ceddY (left) Founder/Head Designer and Chris (right): Artist/Assistant Designer
Cedric "[ceddY]" Okogbodu was born to 2 loving parents in the middle of the crack era. Growing up [ceddY] was all about being [FrEsH] and hooping and had aspirations to play pro ball but these plans were halted when he was cut from the basketball team. Anyways that left [ceddY]with full focus of his attention on being [FrEsH]. Soon he became proclaimed "Best Dressed" in many towns, cities, and some small countries and also became known as a Trendsetter. Now [ceddY] has linked up with artist, Chris Nwoha, and created his own brand, "Y-not?", which will soon fill the void he sees in the world.

Rebel Aire x Supra Skytop

Active is the headlining sponsor for this quarter of the DunkXChange Tour across the US. The two hooked up with a DXC regular Rebel Aire and came together on a pair of limited Supra Skytops. The shoes feature a wrinkled patent upper and Active logo placement on the rear panel. The three also worked up limited decks to go along with the shoes.
How to get them you might ask? Stay tuned for details coming very soon. A hint for now is that people in the Bay Area will have a leg up on the competition.

LT and Kimbo Slice Ghetto Backyard Workout
Just a few days ago we gave you a look at the LaDainian Tomlinson 1World Air Force Ones, but don’t mistake the crocodile upper and light blue for this football player turning soft. Nike has been getting down with guerrilla marketing lately and has a new one featuring backyard brawler turned MMA fighter Kimbo Slice doing showing LT a backyard workout routine.
Anyone who bench presses two window-unit AC’s or leg presses a car gets a free pass to use the least masculine color hues on a sneaker for life. First seen on OnSmash.

K-Ci & JoJo Perform Drunk ON staGe
K-Ci & JoJo Perform Drunk, Resulting In Passing Out
Celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton recently got word that classic R&B duo K-Ci and JoJo (of Jodeci fame) gave a seemingly inebriated concert in Sydney, Australia which resulted in JoJo passing out mid-song on stage. His blog entry reveals:
"Perezcious reader Jordan was there and here's his eyewitness account:
So last night some friends and I went to see a Jodeci "reunion tour" at the Enmore Theater in Sydney. Mate, the whole thing was a disaster. First, one of the guys (Devante I think) didn't even show up, so it became a K-ci and JoJo concert. JoJo came on stage and right away you could tell he was messed right up- he kept forgetting the words to songs and just was a general weirdo. But then, after about 40 minutes into the "show" he decided to sit right down on the floor. His brother, the other crackhead K-Ci was trying his best to carry the show on his own. By far, the best part of the evening was when JoJo walked off stage for about 5 minutes, then came back out to sing "All My Life"- and PASSED OUT mid song. His brother told the audience that they were tired after their 24-hour flight and that JoJo had gotten dizzy."As the video shows (starting at about 1:40 seconds in) after JoJo walked off stage, he stumbles back on a few minutes later, only to pass out on the middle of the stage. As concerned audience members shout "Someone help him!" it takes almost a full minute before JoJo wobbled to his feet and was escorted off-stage.K-Ci and JoJo are most well known for their contributions as members of the legendary R&B group Jodeci, helping croon on tracks like "Feenin'," and "Forever My Lady." Multiple group members have been rumored to be dealing with long-time addictions to various drugs.
Neither K-Ci nor JoJo have commented on the Sydney incident.

Hip Hop is In Dire Need OF Better Fans
While reading over some comments on an article I ran across someone and they had a very valid point...the real problem with todays society is there are NOT real hip hop fans..its a bunch of kids jumping on bandwagons on these wannabe artist..theyll swear to you that someone like Soulja BOy is the best artist...or theyll tell you Lil wayNe is the best..but do they know anything about Wayne because see they think hes Hot cuz of lOllipop but know nothing about when he was a HOt Boy..i mean you support an artist while their"Hot" but the minute they become what you would call undesirable or not as hot...you dont support them anymore...would you really call that a fan then..in my opinion NO..i mean for instance NAS is a very good rapper ..he the truth...did his album sales show it...nawww but am i gonna not listen to him that much anymore or dumb him down because of it NO..why?? because Im a FAN..a real fan that is...so if your gonna be a fan of someone ..be a faN..dont straddle the fence..support artist when their up and when their Down....dont build them up to tear them down..thats weaK and Whack!

HIp Hop NOt Acknowledging OTher mUsIC??
Nelly: Hip Hop Not "Acknowledging" Other Music
Despite making friendly sounding music, Nelly has never been one to bite his tongue.
From a war of words with the Blast Master, KRS-One to standing up for his X-rated “Tip Drill” video, the St. Lunatic has firmly stood his ground since making his debut with 2000’s Country Grammar.
With his latest effort, Brass Knuckles on the way, Cornell Haynes Jr. is now taking Hip Hop as a whole to task, saying its artists need to branch out more.
"Hip-hop's not acknowledging other music," he told The Guardian in a recent interview.
"We should be doing songs with country, rock and pop stars."
With album sales declining across all musical genres, Nelly gave props to rock groups like Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit, two groups with heavy Hip Hop influences in their work.
He pointed to those two groups as an example rap artists should follow.
"Instead of keeping hip-hop locked into one thing, we should be blowing it up and expanding it. That's the way you stay at the top and the music remains dominant."
In the past, Nelly has collaborated with Kelly Rowland (“Dilemma) and country artist Tim McGraw ("Over and Over"). Staying true to himself, he was looking for another high profile collaboration for his upcoming album, but was unable to pull it off.
"I wanted to work with Bruce Springsteen on this album but it didn't happen because of a scheduling conflict."

Nigeria Blames Scam Victims For Being Greedy

People who fall for so-called "Nigerian scams" aren't victims at all—in fact, they're greedy and should be jailed, according to Nigerian high commissioner Sunday Olu Agbi. He said today that Nigeria has gained a bad reputation because of the scams perpetrated by a minuscule number of people, and that those who find themselves involved with the scams are equally as guilty as those running them.
"The Nigerian Government frowns very seriously on these scams... and every day tries to track down those who are involved," Olu Agbi told the Sydney Morning Herald in response to a previous article on Australians falling for Nigerian scams. "People who send their money are as guilty as those who are asking them to send the money."
Out of the 140 million people in Nigeria, Olu Agbi said that fewer than 0.1 percent were involved in Nigerian scams. The scams, also referred to as 419 scams or advance-fee fraud, predate the Internet, but have exploded in recent years thanks to the proliferation of e-mail and instant money transfers. Although the scams can take on many forms—from payments for products sold on eBay or Craigslist, to deposits on houses and purchases of plane tickets for "true love" on the other side of the ocean—they all follow the same general theme.
Scammers send huge checks to unsuspecting victims with some story attached to explain the overpayment, and the victim is expected to wire back the difference immediately. Eventually when the checks are deposited, they bounce and the victim is out a lot of money. Sometimes, victims are tricked into thinking they'll eventually be paid back and continue to participate in this endless cycle of sending money, especially if the scammer is wooing them romantically (which happens more commonly than one might think, to both men and women).
Although this kind of fraud originates from all over the world, it seems to have an unusually high concentration in Africa and, specifically, Nigeria. This has, unsurprisingly, cast Nigeria in a negative light. Olu Agbi said that Nigeria's reputation for being involved with the scams has even hurt the country's ability to land business deals. "[T]hose who want to transact business with us are always very suspicious," he told the newspaper.
Still, Olu Agbi's "blame the victim" mentality won't help Nigeria win any friends, but education on how to spot 419 scams and avoid falling for them can certainly go a long way in curbing their growth. After all, once victims stop blindly forking over cash, scammers will have to figure out some other way to make money.

Obama Knows VP, Hip Hop Urged To Tone Down Support
Hip Hop Artist Should Tone Down Their "Support"
"I've made the selection, that's all you're gonna get," Obama told reporters yesterday during a trip to Virginia.
Three names have been hurled around cyber space as possible picks for the 2008 Obama ticket: Senator Joe Biden of Delaware, Virginia Governor Tim Kaine, and Senator Evan Bayh of Indiana.
The announcement will reportedly come later today, but the public will know for certain tomorrow, according to numerous published reports. Obama is planning to present the ticket at a rally in Illinois.
In other Obama news, MTV recently ran a report chronicling Hip Hop's love affair with the Illinois senator. With Obama drawing fire over the recent release of "Politics" [click to listen] by Ludacris, two of the games living legends suggest that emcees may want to stay quiet until after Election Day.
"They gotta work in other ways to get him in the White House," Ice Cube [click to read] says. "It's not really about doing a song right now. He has to separate himself from that stuff; he's in a political race. Everybody should kick back for a minute, see what happens in November. If he becomes president, he wouldn't have to separate himself as much from some of these statements. Because Obama can't come as hardcore as Ludacris as far as his message right now — he can't do that. Us rappers might have to hold our tongues for a few months."
Scarface [click to read] echoed his west coast contemporary's sentiments.
"All it takes is for a muthafucker getting out there being real [ghetto] and people will be like, 'We don't wanna fuck with Obama'; they'll wanna smash on him because of what somebody else said. [Someone] speaks for himself and its Barack's fault? What did Luda say — that's Barack's fault? Is it Barack's fault what I'm saying? I don't wanna be the reason he don't get [the presidency]."
